Who I Am & Why I Do This Work

Alyssa Marrero MSW, LCSW

Founder of The Crisis Collective

Hi! My name is Alyssa, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have dedicated my career to helping people in crisis. I’ve worked on the front lines of crisis response, supporting people through domestic violence, suicide, and mental health emergencies. My experience spans crisis hotlines, mobile crisis response teams, and managing crisis response systems across two counties in Illinois.

Throughout my work in crisis, I’ve continued to I see the same gap again and again: people receive immediate crisis intervention, but once the moment passes, they’re left without the care and guidance needed to truly heal. Thats why I created The Crisis Collective. I wanted to build a place where individuals and the professionals who help them, could find stability, compassion, and expert help in the days, weeks, and months after crisis.

As a licensed therapist, I now offer virtual therapy and post-crisis stabilization sessions tailored to people navigating chronic crisis, trauma, and major life changes. My approach combines professional training with genuine human connection, because I believe care should feel both effective and deeply supportive.

If you’re here, you’ve likely been through something overwhelming. I want you to know you don’t have to walk through the aftermath on your own—this space was created for you.
