Life After a Mental Health Crisis: Why The Crisis Collective Exists
“When the crisis ends, the storm settles—and the mess remains.”
Early in my career, I noticed a pattern: people in crisis often get support when things feel urgent, but once the immediate danger passes, they’re left on their own. Imagine spending a week in the hospital, seeing multiple doctors, receiving a flood of information, and then being sent home with paperwork, a big bill, and no clear next step. Fear, confusion, and isolation often follow. Watching people navigate that alone showed me how much guidance and connection truly matter.
The Need for Post-Crisis Support
So many people leave hospitals or crisis care with no clear plan for what comes next. Life doesn’t pause when the crisis is over, it continues, often messy and overwhelming. I wanted a practice that addresses that gap, a place where people can find support beyond the immediate emergency.
Why “The Crisis Collective”?
When I started my practice, I wanted a name that reflected our purpose: supportive, collaborative, and expansive. As I daydreamed in a Cheesecake Factory with my friend and colleague Kristina, we agreed: The Crisis Collective felt right. Crisis isn’t something anyone should face alone, and healing is strongest when it happens in connection, with trained professionals, supportive communities, and your own inner resilience.
“Collective is the key word. Recovery and growth are stronger when people come together.”
At The Crisis Collective, we strive to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and supported not just in the moment of crisis, but in the days and weeks that follow.
A Place for Hope, Guidance, and Connection
The Crisis Collective isn’t just a practice. It’s a place for hope, guidance, and connection when life feels messy and for finding your next step forward, even when it feels impossible.
