About The Crisis Collective
Mental health support shouldn't begin or end with a crisis.
The Crisis Collective was built on the belief that better mental health care takes a collective approach. That means supporting individuals through therapy while also giving professionals and communities the education, tools, and resources they need to respond when someone is struggling.
Through therapy, education, training, and consultation, we're working toward mental health care that feels more accessible, informed, and human.
Why We Exists
The Crisis Collective grew from seeing a gap in the way mental health support is often provided: people can struggle to access the right care before reaching a breaking point, and support can be difficult to navigate once the immediate crisis has passed.
At the same time, professionals and organizations are often expected to respond to complex mental health situations without always having the practical training, resources, or systems they need to feel prepared.
The Crisis Collective was created to help bridge those gaps.
By bringing together therapy, education, training, and consultation, we aim to create better support for individuals while helping build communities that are more informed, prepared, and equipped to respond to mental health crises.
Meet the Therapist & Founder
Alyssa Marrero MSW, LCSW
Hi, I’m Alyssa.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker and the founder of The Crisis Collective. After years of working in crisis and community mental health, I created The Crisis Collective to bring together two things I care deeply about: providing compassionate, person-centered therapy and improving the way we understand and respond to mental health crises.
Today, I bring that experience into both sides of my work, providing collaborative, trauma-informed therapy to teens and adults while developing practical education and training for the professionals and communities supporting them.
As a therapist, my style is conversational, active, and human. I’ll ask questions, help you make connections, offer new perspectives, and sometimes challenge you when it might help. I’m comfortable sitting with the hard stuff without losing sight of the person in front of me.
The Collective Approach
Therapy:
Support that feels accessible, human, and collaborative.
Therapy shouldn't feel intimidating or like you have to navigate everything on your own. Our approach is conversational, active, and centered around making it easier to ask for help, understand what you're experiencing, and access the support you need.
We look beyond symptoms to understand the whole picture, including your experiences, relationships, environment, strengths, and the systems around you.
Training & Education:
Practical knowledge should be easy to access, and easy to use.
Mental health crisis response shouldn't be knowledge reserved for crisis specialists. We believe clinicians, organizations, and communities deserve access to practical education and resources that help them feel more prepared when someone is struggling.
Our training focuses on translating complex crisis concepts into real-world tools, language, and strategies people can actually use.
Do I have to be in a Crisis to Come here?
Not at all.
The Crisis Collective was built on the belief that support shouldn’t only be available when things reach a breaking point. You might be recovering from a difficult experience, noticing that things are getting harder, or simply ready to make a change.
You don’t need to be in crisis to start therapy here. Wherever you are, we’ll start there.
